GOGOJILI Reel Paths: What Is a Payline, and Where Ways-to-Win Breaks the Rule

What is a payline? A fixed path across the reels. Matching symbols pay only when they land along it.
That is the whole idea. The rest is counting, and knowing when a slot has no lines at all.
What Is a Payline? The Short Version
- A path. Usually left to right, across one position per reel.
- A match. Same symbols, in order, from the first reel.
- A payout. The paytable says what each match pays on that line.
Three JILI slots show the range:
| Slot | Layout on JILI’s page | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Crazy 777 | 1 payline | One path; a win lands there or not at all |
| Money Coming | 1 line | One path, plus a Special Wheel and a Lucky Wheel |
| Boxing King | 88 paylines | 88 paths in one spin; small wins land more often |
Do: count lines before you judge a slot as “tight” or “loose”. Don’t: read 88 lines as 88 times the chance of a big win.
Paylines vs the Stake
On a fixed-line slot, one stake covers every line. A stake of ₱88 on 88 lines works out at ₱1 a line, so a single small line win can return less than the stake.
Problem: a win banner flashes, yet the balance went down. Fix: compare the win with the stake. On a many-line slot, a single line win can be smaller than what the spin cost; the banner counts it as a win all the same.
Problem: you cannot see why a spin paid. Fix: open the paytable’s line diagram and trace the symbols along each path.
Ways to Win: Paylines Removed
Ways-to-win slots drop fixed paths. A symbol pays if it lands anywhere on adjacent reels, starting from the first.
| Slot | Layout on the studio’s page | How it counts |
|---|---|---|
| Super Ace (JILI) | 1024 ways | Five reels, four rows: 4 × 4 × 4 × 4 × 4 |
| Golden Empire (JILI) | 32400 megaways | Rows per reel change from spin to spin |
| Mahjong Ways (PG Soft) | 5 reels, 4 rows, 1,024 ways | Same count as Super Ace, different symbols and features |
| Mahjong Ways 2 (PG Soft) | 5 reels, 4 rows, an extra row on reels 2–4 | The extra rows lift the original’s 1,024 ways to 2,000 |
Lines are paths you can draw. Ways are combinations you count. Same goal; different maths.
GOGOJILI Paylines: Reading the Info Screen
The lobby’s slots show their layout on each game’s own info screen. Four lines to find:
- Line or ways count. “1 line”, “88 paylines”, “1024 ways”.
- Direction. Left to right only, or both ways.
- Fixed or adjustable. Can you switch lines off?
- Paytable per line. What a three-, four- and five-symbol match pays.

Red flags to watch for
- “More lines, more wins” sales talk. Lines spread the stake; they do not raise what the game pays back.
- A pattern system for paylines. Lines do not “warm up”. Each spin is settled on its own.
- A “1024 ways” claim on a game whose info screen says otherwise. Trust the screen, not the tile art.
- Line wins smaller than the stake shown as “wins”. Count them for what they are.
- A copycat slot with a familiar name and no studio label. Check the studio before you spin.

How to Get Started
-
Find the line or ways count on the info screen
It sits near the paytable: '1 line', '88 paylines', '1024 ways'. Note it before the first spin.
-
Check whether lines are fixed or adjustable
Some line games let you switch lines off; most modern ones fix them. Fixed lines mean the stake covers all of them.
-
Read one winning example in the paytable
Trace one pictured win across the reels. If you can follow it, you understand how that slot pays.
