Slot volatility explained in one line: it is how a game spreads its wins. Small and often, or big and rarely.
It does not predict the next spin. What it does show: how long a losing stretch may run, and therefore how many spins your pesos need to cover.
Slot Volatility Explained, Label by Label
| Label | Wins feel like… | Budget need |
|---|---|---|
| Low | Frequent, small | Smaller cushion per session |
| Low to medium (JILI’s LOW-MED) | Regular small wins, occasional bigger ones | Moderate cushion |
| Medium | A mix, with longer quiet stretches | Larger cushion |
| High | Long dry runs, rare large hits | Largest cushion, smaller stake |
GOGOJILI Slot Volatility: What the Studios Print
| Studio | Title | Label on the studio page |
|---|---|---|
| JILI | Super Ace | LOW-MED |
| JILI | Golden Empire | LOW-MED |
| JILI | Boxing King | LOW-MED |
| JILI | Money Coming | LOW-MED |
| JILI | Crazy 777 | LOW-MED |
| PG Soft | Mahjong Ways | Medium |
| PG Soft | Mahjong Ways 2 | Medium |
| PG Soft | Lucky Neko | Medium |
| PG Soft | Wild Bandito | Medium |
Two notes. JILI prints volatility for slots only, so fishing games carry no label. Wild Bandito is the trap: several databases call it high, yet PG Soft’s page prints Medium. Go with the studio.
What Volatility Means for ₱1,000
Volatility is felt in spins, not in pesos. Same budget, different stakes:
| Budget | Stake per spin (example) | Spins it buys |
|---|---|---|
| ₱1,000 | ₱5 | 200 |
| ₱1,000 | ₱10 | 100 |
| ₱1,000 | ₱50 | 20 |
A LOW-MED design leans toward more frequent small wins across 100 spins. A Medium design allows longer quiet stretches. At 20 spins on any label, one dry run can end the session.
- Do pick the stake after you pick the label.
- Don’t raise the stake on a Medium slot to “force” the feature.
- Do treat max win as a ceiling. Super Ace’s 10000x and Mahjong Ways 2’s x100000 are tops, not targets.
- Don’t read volatility as a hot or cold streak. It describes the design, not the moment.
Set the session’s peso limit with seven bankroll rules for peso sessions. Use the label when you choose a slot machine by its numbers. New to RTP or max win? The casino terms list.
Volatility vs RTP, Side by Side
Two different numbers. Read both where both exist.
| Title | Volatility label | RTP on the studio page | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mahjong Ways 2 | Medium | 96.95% | x100000 |
| Lucky Neko | Medium | 96.73% | x100000 |
| Super Ace | LOW-MED | Not published | 10000x |
| Golden Empire | LOW-MED | Not published | 2000x |
Same label, different RTP; same RTP gap, different ceilings. No single column tells you everything.
Volatility and Topping Up
A Medium slot drains a small balance faster in a dry run, which tempts a quick top-up. Note that GCash no longer carries gaming top-ups; the GCash casino question, answered explains why. A top-up you did not plan is a red flag of its own.
Red flags to watch for
- A “low volatility, high max win” pitch with no studio page. Check the label where the studio prints it.
- A JILI RTP figure next to a volatility label. JILI publishes no RTP; that number came from elsewhere.
- “This slot is due.” Volatility describes spread, not timing.
- A stake raise after a dry run. That is chasing, whatever the label.
- No label at all on a slot. Read the info screen; if it says nothing, treat the game as unknown.

How to Get Started
-
Find the tag the studio prints
JILI prints a VOLATILITY field for slots; PG Soft prints Session Volatility. Note the exact label.
-
Count spins, not pesos
Divide your budget by the stake. That number of spins is what has to ride out the dry runs.
-
Size the stake by the tag
On a higher-volatility slot, a smaller stake buys more spins to wait out the rare big hits.
